Windows tray app | local and privacy-first

MileMouse: your private mouse odometer for Windows.

MileMouse is a privacy-focused mouse odometer for Windows, tracking daily cursor distance, key counts, and clicks while keeping activity totals on your device.

Windows 10 and 11. The MileMouse desktop app has no cloud sync, no account, and no app telemetry.

The problem

Understand your mouse and keyboard activity without being watched.

It is hard to understand the physical and input side of a workday without collecting more than needed. MileMouse turns mouse distance, key count, clicks, and active time into personal daily totals without profiling apps, sites, or content.

  1. 01

    Counts, never captures

A key press increments a number. MileMouse does not record or save the key, typed text, passwords, or clipboard content.

  2. 02

    Stays on your PC

Daily totals are stored in local Windows app data. The MileMouse app sends no customer data or activity profile to Magellan Software LLC.

  3. 03

    No remote monitoring

MileMouse has no employer dashboard or remote viewer, and it does not track app names, window titles, or websites.

  4. 04

    Focused data flow

Tracking uses simple counters and local JSON storage with no MileMouse account, telemetry, or cloud sync.

Move. Count. Look back.

MileMouse stays in your tray, keeps a daily tally, and helps you review your patterns without changing how you work.

1. Move

Run it once and keep working. Distance keeps accumulating while you use Windows.

2. Count

Track how many keys and clicks happen in your day, never which keys were pressed.

3. Look back

Review day-by-day totals so your workload trend is visible at a glance.

Mouse distance, made useful

A mouse odometer for your Windows workday

MileMouse turns cursor travel into daily cursor distance and places it beside mouse clicks and keystroke counts. You get a clearer read of each Windows workday, with totals stored on your local PC for private day-to-day review.

  • Distance Cursor travel
  • Clicks Mouse actions
  • Keys Typing volume, never content

Follow the cursor path

Movement between cursor positions is added into readable daily distance. Implausibly large jumps are filtered to keep totals practical, but the result is still an estimate from sampled motion, not a perfect reconstruction of every path.

One daily distance total

Calibrate for your display

Calibration and DPI settings convert pixels into a real-world estimate. After setup, distance can be viewed as meters, kilometers, or miles, and accuracy follows your display configuration across screens and scaling choices.

Meters | kilometers | miles

Compare days, not people

Use daily totals to compare your own routines and input load across writing, design, and admin tasks. There is no app/window/site profile, and MileMouse is not employee monitoring or a productivity score.

Personal insight, not surveillance

See how cursor distance, mouse clicks, and keystroke counts rise or settle together across writing, design, and everyday admin work.

Built for real desktop routines

Mouse mileage

Measures cursor travel throughout the day so movement intensity is easy to compare. This mouse distance tracker reports movement as readable daily totals instead of raw pixel counts.

Key and click totals

Counts activity volume as totals only, with no key content captured or stored. It works as a keystroke counter for aggregate daily volume while never recording key identity or text.

Records and charts

Pro includes deeper records and chart views for long-term analysis.

Calibration controls

Fine-tune tracking with calibration and settings to match your workstation setup.

Tray-first behavior

Lives quietly in the system tray so your dashboard is there when you need it.

History and export path

Free keeps the newest 7 rows, while Pro includes unlimited history plus share, export, and backup tools.

Private by design

Your activity is not sent to us.

MileMouse stores daily totals locally. It does not record or save which keys you press, what you type, passwords, clipboard content, app names, window titles, or websites.

  • No remote monitoring
  • No activity uploads
  • No app activity data sent to Magellan Software LLC

Microsoft Store may separately handle app delivery, purchases, and license checks. MileMouse does not send activity totals through that process.

Mouse and keyboard activity tracking, answered.

What is a mouse odometer?
It is software that tallies how far your cursor travels during a day, similar to mileage for pointer movement. MileMouse adds up that travel and shows a daily distance total so you can compare routines. MileMouse also adds the number of mouse clicks and keystrokes counted that day, giving you one view of movement and input volume. These are aggregate counters only: the app does not save which keys you pressed, what you typed, the apps you used, or the websites you visited. It is not hardware in your mouse and it is not remote employee-monitoring software.
How does MileMouse calculate mouse distance?
MileMouse adds cursor movement in pixels as you use Windows, then applies your screen DPI or calibration settings to estimate real distance in meters, kilometers, or miles. The result depends on display setup and calibration quality, so it is best used for consistent day-to-day comparison.
Does MileMouse save my keystrokes?
No. A key press only increments a count, and MileMouse does not save key values, typed content, or key sequences.
Does MileMouse send my activity data to Magellan Software LLC?
No. Daily totals stay locally on your PC. Microsoft Store separately handles app download, purchase, and license checks.
Is MileMouse employee monitoring software?
No. MileMouse is for personal daily totals and has no remote dashboard, app tracking, window tracking, or website tracking.
What does MileMouse track?
Daily mouse distance, number of key presses, number of clicks, and active time. It does not track CPU usage, app utilization, or browser and website activity.
How does the Pro trial work?
MileMouse includes an automatic local 30-day Pro preview only after a definitive Store-Free entitlement result. No payment is required, there is no automatic charge, and the app returns to Free at expiry while retaining local history.
